Welcome to Universal Medical
Innovative Development

Relying on the strategic layout of "Finance + Integrated Healthcare + Specialised Medical Care + Healthcare Technology," Universal Medical strives to build the company into an internationally leading and domestically top-tier medical and healthcare conglomerate, with integrated healthcare as its core, financial service capabilities, integrated healthcare features, and healthcare technology advantages. Innovation stands as one of the Group’s core values. We encourage organizational and employee-driven management and operational innovations through initiatives such as the "Golden Ideas and Micro-Innovations" channel, which collects and implements staff proposals. Innovative technologies, including BIM (Building Information Modeling) and intelligent management systems, are integrated into projects to enhance construction efficiency and operational sustainability. Collaboration with suppliers and partners extends innovation to the supply chain, jointly exploring advanced solutions in medical services and technology applications.

Universal Medical fully recognizes the significance of collaborative innovation and has proactively established strategic partnerships with external institutions. The Group, in collaboration with its healthcare management subsidiary, has entered into a cooperative agreement with Tsinghua Changgung Hospital to jointly advance innovative applications of healthcare big data. Furthermore, in synergy with the healthcare management company, the Group has successfully implemented a digital transformation innovation initiative - an exploratory practice demonstrating how a centralized data platform empowers integrated group management capabilities.

We are committed to building the Universal Medical Cloud Imaging Platform to achieve regional remote collaboration for imaging services, including remote film reading and report writing. Additionally, we have introduced medical imaging AI technology, utilizing artificial intelligence to assist in accurate image interpretation and report writing, significantly improving the efficiency of radiology departments. We have established a comprehensive internet health service platform covering pre-hospital, in-hospital, and post-hospital services, providing smart medical consultations, online diagnosis, and health management services. Over 40 hospitals are online, serving 41 million patient visits. At the same time, 21 hospitals have launched the "Health Steward" program, providing 4.3 million online consultations in 2024, with a 100% positive feedback rate. In 2024, the reappointment rate for discharged patients is expected to increase to 58%. We have also deepened the integration of data platforms with medical business, with 38 hospitals' operational data and 36 hospitals' financial data accepted, and have transitioned to integrated business and financial operations. We have established a comprehensive operational analysis system at all levels. Innovatively, we have adopted a shared library construction model, achieving an efficient architecture of "one system, multiple hospitals sharing," while ensuring independent, interference-free operation of each hospital's business processes. Compared to traditional independent deployment models, this innovative model reduces construction costs by 50% and shortens the implementation cycle to 60%. The innovative applications of healthcare technology have significantly improved the operational efficiency of the hospitals and the patient experience, helping us to continuously establish a new benchmark for high-quality development in central state-owned enterprise healthcare.

The Group conducts systematic reviews of innovation initiatives and plans, performing end-to-end evaluations from project initiation and execution to outcome delivery. Internal and external experts, alongside stakeholders, are engaged to assess projects from multidisciplinary perspectives. By benchmarking project objectives against actual outcomes, we rigorously analyze strengths and gaps, pinpointing optimization opportunities such as refining innovation workflows and strengthening resource integration. Based on these insights, targeted improvement measures are formulated to continuously enhance project quality, efficiency, and organizational innovation capabilities.
