On November 3rd, 2012 International Symposium of China Primary Hospital Stroke Prevention was co-held by China Universal Leasing Co., Ltd. and Sino-American Stroke Group (SASG) in Beijing. CULC President Mr. Guo Weiping delivered a speech on behalf of CULC. The organizers invited more than 80 hospital presidents and department chiefs of 28 hospitals from 13 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities to listen to reports by Chinese and foreign experts on stroke prevention and treatment and to share the experience of unrolling primary hospital stroke prevention and treatment in China.

Guided by the thought of promoting the project in Chinese primary hospitals, the organizers invited Professor Zhang Qinyi, the head of SASG and the Chief of Stroke Department of Anzhen Hospital, Dr. Douglas J. Wirthlin, the head of SASG American expert group, Professor Wang Naidong, the deputy head of SASG American expert group, Mr. Marco Gergolet, the Manager of Technical Department of SIAS, Professor Xu Zhimin from Anzhen Hospital and other experts to deliver keynote speeches. The speeches focused on the practices of hybrid technology in extracranial carotid stenostic diseases, the values and significances of imaging technology in ischemic cerebral diseases, the latest progress of intrathoracic stroke, the value of mobile C-arm X-ray unit in stroke diagnosis, the hot spots of cardio-cerebral vascular diseases and other topics. Mr. Liang Xicai, the president of Qiqihar Jianhua Hospital, shared his experience of establishing stroke base.

The China Primary Hospital Stroke Prevention and Treatment Project combines the technical and financial advantages of SASG and CULC to provide comprehensive and one-stop services for partner hospitals and to construct the discipline of hospitals. Now, several hospitals have participated in the project and became the base. The national network of stroke prevention and treatment is forming.

During the symposium, SASG and CULC signed cooperative contracts with Taiyuan Central Hospital and Beian People’s First Hospital to establish stroke screening and prevention base. CULC signed leaseback contract with Qiqihar Jianhua Hospital. Twenty-three attending hospitals signed agreements of intent. The symposium not only spread the latest concept in stroke prevention and treatment, but also deepened the attending hospitals’ understanding of the project, thus laying a solid foundation for the development of stroke prevention and treatment.
