UM Online Healthcare Supports Local Poverty Alleviation Projects
According to a recent report in CCTV-NEWS, Pangang Group General Hospital, a member hospital of Genertec Universal Medical Group Company Limited (“UM”, HK.2666), managed to provide quality medical services to residents in local poverty-stricken areas via UM online healthcare system.
Huidong County, a state-level poor unit in Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province, has been deficient of accessible medical services for too long because of poor transportation. As early as the year of 2012, Pangang Hospital initiated a project to provide medical support for 5 Liangshan poverty-stricken counties including Huili, Huidong, Yanyuan, Yuexi and Ganluo. After UM healthcare system applied in 2020, country doctors connected with the hospital more closely in the established 3-level medical network (City-County-Country), successfully opening up the “last kilometer” away from the most remote areas.
The establishment and wide application of UM healthcare system effectively supports new infrastructure projects in member hospitals. Up to now, there have been 4 UM hospitals officially licensed as online hospitals, namely, XD Hospital, Xi’an Aero Hospital, Xianyang Caihong Hospital and Yantai Harbour Hospital.
UM healthcare system also performed effectively in the covid-19 pandemic, during which various online functions work smoothly including inquiry, fever clinic and overseas remote counseling, with almost 1200 UM doctors providing free services. The system supported Genertec overseas online clinic project by managing expert consultation for 20 times and providing one-on-one treatment for critical patients in 3 consecutive weeks until all being tested negative.
In future, UM will continue to improve its smart hospital products lineup driven by updated big data, with application of the latest AI, big data and cloud computing technologies, to provide more support to hospital operation, clinical discipline development and tiered medical services system establishment. As a health conglomerate backed by SOE, for the Health China Plan, UM will always stick to its mission to safeguard health with quality services and develop its digital medical service capability to make medical services more digitalized, transparent and accessible.
