On 21st July 2020, UM Shaanxi Hospital Alliance held a development seminar & membership awarding ceremony in XD Hospital, Xi’an, Shaanxi Province. Over 120 guests attended the ceremony including Ms. Peng Jiahong, CEO of Genertec Universal Medical Group Company Limited (“Universal Medical”, 2666.HK), Mr. Feng Qingming, CMO of Universal Medical and the management teams from the member hospitals of the Alliance. During the ceremony, the official plate of UM Shaanxi Hospital Alliance was unveiled and membership plates were awarded to 9 UM hospitals including XD Hospital, Xianyang Caihong Hospital, Aero-engine Hospital, CRFG Xi’an Central Hospital, Genertec Universal CRFG Tangshan Hospital, CRFG Central Hospital, CRFG Fifth Company Hospital, CRFG Xianyang Central Hospital and NORINCO No. 206 Institute Staff Hospital. Peng addressed the seminar and set forth central SOE position to safeguard health and wellness through quality healthcare. The Alliance is committed to playing a leading role, she said, to become a group benchmark by successfully establishing a UM hospital management demonstration cluster in Northwest China.

Influenced by Covid-19 epidemic, as early as this March, the Alliance had to be established via online conference. Up to now, a cooperation platform within the Alliance has been set up containing quality safety, nursing and services, operation management and IT systems to effectively promote experience exchanges among member hospitals. During the seminar, Dr. Wang Shuangquan, superintendent of XD Hospital which is the executive deputy-director and also the leading hospital of the Alliance, mapped out the future development plan: humanistic and nursing management group promotes trainings of PDCA and PICC, implementing humanistic nursing plans; operation management group pushes forward translational medicine and medical research; IT management group advances data standardization among hospitals; quality safety group makes further regulations to ID construction design, antibacterial management and internet safety; industrial culture management group holds a competition on satisfaction measurement among member hospitals; steering group supervises and provides guidance to the above-mentioned five tasks.

Mr. An Haiyan, the senior consultant of the Alliance, made a speech with the topic of “Thoughts on Medical Services Upgrade in Post-epidemic Era” to present the impacts to hospitals and changes to medical services since the 2020 Coivd-19 epidemic and share how to improve medical services in post-epidemic era. After that, Dr. Li Huaming, deputy general manager of UM Medical IT Department, described IT construction plans and outlook within the Alliance in perspectives of development trends of medical IT, UM medical IT construction plan and measures to Alliance IT construction. During the seminar, two reputed experts were specially presented to the Alliance, namely, Dr. Li Jian’an, leader of rehabilitation medicine area around the world and international academia of American Academy of Medical Sciences, and Professor Jane Reinhardt, world-famous rehabilitation expert.

Along with the advances of the Alliance and more reputed experts joining in, member hospitals will get upgraded in terms of medical services, quality safety, IT construction and industrial culture management, which will make great contributions to medical services in Northwest China and health and wellbeing of local residents.
