UM Established a Platform to Help Exchange Chinese Experience in Virus Fight

(April 15, 2020) An online workshop got together COVID-19 experts group from Tongji Hospital, an affiliated hospital of Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (华中科技大学同济医学院附属同济医院) and medical teams from Medcial College and Medical Center of University of California (San Francisco). Genertec Universal Medical Group Company Limited (“Universal Medical”, HK.2666), as the organizer of the online meeting, provided all-round support for profound exchanges on prevention, control and treatment of the increasingly serious virus global attack. Tongji medical team was led by Professor Zhu Wenzhen, deputy president of Tongji Hospital. Ms. Peng Jiahong, CEO of Universal Medical, and Mr. Feng Qingming, CMO of Universal Medical, also attended the meeting.

Tongji experts is communicating with American peers.

Tongji Hospital is located in Wuhan, Hubei Province, the worst-hit area of COVID-19 in China. As one of the top medical institutions in China, the hospital explored around 50 inpatient areas to receive and treat COVID-19 infesters. Up to now, they have received thousands of severe and critical cases, becoming the hospital who received the most severe and critical cases in the city and thus having accumulated rich experience in dealing with patient treatment and virus control.

During the workshop, experts from the U.S. listened carefully to presentations of veterans from Tongji Hospital and raised questions about epidemic prevention, severe case treatment, ID department prevention, protection of medical staff and resumption.

 

Universal Medical has arranged three online workshops for experience exchanges on COVID-19 prevention and control, bridging Chinese reputed and sophisticated experts from authorities and hundreds of American medical experts and delivering Chinese experience to all around the world.  

 

Universal Medical organized the first online meeting for Sino-U.S. experts on March 27. The expert team from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (西安交通大学第一附属医院, “the First Affiliated Hospital”) shared their insights and experience in virus fight with the four medical groups and three medical colleges from U.S..

Experts from Xian Jiaotong University First Affiliated Hospital is chatting with American doctors online.

The First Affiliated Hospital has dispatched its medical team to Wuhan for virus support. The 50-days campaign equipped them with plentiful experience in management of infected persons and treatment of severe and critical cases.

During the online meeting, American doctors expressed sincere gratitude to Chinese medical teams in Chinese. The well-worth learning Chinese experience makes a great difference to the virus-hit America. They would continue to learn from China in future days.

Experts from Huaxi Hospital (Professor Luo Fengming and Professor Yin Wanhong)

Professor Luo Fengming, the party chief of internal medicine department and deputy director of PCCM of Huaxi Hospital, Sichuan University (四川大学华西医院, “Huaxi Hospital”) led his team to attend UM’s second online meeting on April 1, during which they held in-depth discussion and efficient exchanges with over 50 medical experts from several American medical institutions including Northwell Group.

 

Professor Luo Fengming, Professor Yin Wanhong, and Professor Wang Ye from Huaxi Hospital, as the first batch of Sichuan medical experts, reached Wuhan on the first day of Chinese Lunar New Year and managed to establish a 3-A hospital level ICU in Wuhan Red Cross Hospital, a 2-A hospital, making great contributions to Hubei battle and bringing back helpful experience.

In Q&A section, American experts raised almost 60 clinical questions and Chinese experts made specific answers and solutions one by one.
