The year of 2019 is stretching out before us when the brilliant sunshine of New Year falls on China. Reviewing the past, we feel more than grateful for consistent support and concern from our shareholders, investors, partners and friends from all communities. It is your great kindness that makes what we have accomplished and greater expectations for Universal Medical. As 2018 comes to an end and we look ahead to 2019, Universal Medical wants to wish everyone a happy and healthy New Year!

The last year has seen a time of great opportunities and challenges. The Reform and Open-up entered into the 40thyear and the New Health Reform, the 10thyear with deepening implementation of the Healthy China Strategy. Chinese government introduced a series of policy documents to encourage medical operated by private sector, integration of medical resources, development of online medical and combination of medical and elderly care, industry focus having been transformed to “health” from “treatment”. Support from national policies not only brought vigour to medical industry, but also created new opportunities for our development.

In the past 12 years, every pace we made managed to take advantage of political trend of the Party and government in economic, financial and medical areas, which brought us healthy, rapid and sustained development. We are thankful for the grace of the times, but still remember our responsivities and missions as our deepest innovation power to benefit people’s livelihood, provide quality services for clients and work for employees’ happiness. There is no trifiles when it comes to people’s wellbeing. Entering into medical area for years, we have got the deepest feelings about medical requirements of common people and profound understanding and thinking about headaches for domestic hospital development. Health reform is a worldwide problem. How to give full play to our advantages and shoulder key responsibilities during the reform is our priority when making development strategies.

In 2018, we further clarified our strategical target to become a leading medical and health conglomerate in China and actively integrated resources to upgrade comprehensive medical service capability of our own, promoting the coordinated development of hospital investment and management, healthcare finance, hospital digitalization and healthcare technology services. We established a healthcare service system with conglomerating advantage, achieving excellent results and receiving recognition of industry and market.

In the year of 2018, we solidified our foundation by deeply digging value of primary hospital clients, boosting business linkage and exploiting diversified financing channels. We achieved stable growth in lease business and maintained good asset quality. Universal Leasing got AAA rating and Universal Medical won the Most Valuable Stock in HK Connect Prize in 2018.

Year of Innovation. We seized political opportunities to make new results in SOE hospital take-overs in split seconds. Stable pace has been made to implement hospital investment and management business and new projects have been signed. Research and development in hospital digitalization products kept moving and marketing cooperation has been rolled out. A diversified health and medical industry platform is under construction.

Year of Common Development. We totally understand the great significance of talents to company development. We made forward-looking decisions to recruit professionals and establish a cross-functional coordination system for corporate efficiency.

Year of Unity. We studied and implemented the Spirit of 19thNational Party Congress to lead development by Party construction, uniting people and establishing an energetic corporate culture.

It is stated that the best commemoration for history is to create a new one. At the start of 2019, with the will and courage of striking the waves in midstream, the new management team surely will accomplish their missions by leading all employees to move forward, contributing to new prosperity of Universal Medical and a Healthy China!
