A few days ago, Radiotherapy Committee was founded in Beijing. The founding ceremony was organized by China Association for Medical Devices Industry (CAMDI), undertaken by Chinese PLA General Hospital and co-sponsored by Universal Medical and other healthcare institutions. During the ceremony, Mr. Guo Weiping, CEO of Universal Medical, was honored vice-chairman title of the Committee.

Professor Yin Weibo, chairman of China Society for Radiation Oncology, Doctor Yu Jinming, academician of China Engineering Academy and experts in cancer research, were invited to the founding ceremony and had heated discussions and in-depth exchanges on issues like standardized treatment of radioactive seeds implantation, precise radiation therapy of non-small cell lung cancer, etc.

China lags behind in large digital diagnostic equipment and is overwhelmingly dependent on importation, for which governments has paid close attention to its research and industry development. The ceremony provided a good opportunity for the industry to enhance product quality, boost new research and plan more academic activities so as to achieve collaborative development between primary hospitals and large hospitals on more standardized radiation therapy application.
