October 18-19 2014, China Universal Leasing Co., Ltd and Sino-American Stroke Group co-host the 2014 International Symposium on China’s Primary Hospital Stroke Prevention and Treatment and the 7thSino-American Cardio-Cerebral Forum (“SMILE Conference”) at Maoming, Guangdong Province. One hundred and forty-six presidents and chiefs of department from 72 hospitals in more than 20 provinces and municipalities presented the conference. Ms. Cui Shuang, the Vice-mayor of Maoming attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. President Guo Weiping of CULC delivered the opening speech.

The conference, held for four consecutive years, was an international event in the field of cardio-cerebral diagnosis and treatment. The hosts invited Professor Zhang Qinyi, the Chief Expert of Stroke Screening, Prevention and Treatment Project launched by National Health and Family Planning Commission and the Leader of Chinese Experts of SASG, as well as 14 experts in stroke prevention and treatment fields from China, the US and Singapore. The experts and scholars gave keynote speeches focusing on the International Hotspots on Cardio-Cerebral Diseases and carried out in-depth discussions on the disease management and health management modes of stroke, the value of ultrasound in evaluating the stability of carotid artery plaques, the progress in ischemic diseases of cerebral vessels and the keys and misunderstandings in the prevention of cardio-cerebral diseases. Together, they shared their experience in the prevention and treatment of stroke in China and the world and communicated in Q&A session to answer the problems from primary hospitals in hospital management, clinical skills and stroke prevention and treatment.

During the conference, the attendees and delegates visited Maoming People’s Hospital, which is the Base Hospital for Stroke Screening, Prevention and Treatment, to see the live surgery of CEA by Prof. Zhang Qinyi. More than 300 academic leaders and experts from cardio-cerebral field all over China observed the surgery.

CULC and SASG signed cooperative contracts for Base Hospital for Stroke Screening, Prevention and Treatment with 14 hospitals and letters of intent with 21 hospitals. The conference closed in success.
