Genertec Universal Medical Wins Two ICT China Case Awards for Digital-Intelligence Achievements
The results of the ICT China (2026) Case Collection and Release Program, hosted by the China Association of Communication Enterprises (CACE), have been officially announced. After multiple rounds of expert review, two digital-intelligence projects from Genertec Universal Medical (Universal Medical Financial & Technical Advisory Services Company Limited, “Universal Medical” or “the Company”) stood out from a large number of submissions. Building an AI-Empowered Smart Hospital Platform Covering All Scenarios and the Full Process won First Prize, while Development and Construction of a Digital Intelligence-Driven Digital Industrial-Finance Service Platform received Third Prize. Targeting real-world pain points in hospital operations and industrial-chain finance, the two projects use digital technologies to address industry challenges and demonstrate the Company’s progress in implementing its health technology strategy.
AI Empowers All Scenarios of Hospital Management, Strengthening Medical Quality Control and Medical Insurance Compliance
Medical institutions have long faced operational challenges: manual medical record quality control is time-consuming and labor-intensive, and quality standards are difficult to unify; the identification of medical insurance compliance risks is often delayed, easily leading to insurance deductions and losses; imaging diagnosis workloads are heavy; and online doctor-patient services are fragmented, with prominent data silos across business systems. As a result, medical institutions find it difficult to simultaneously improve care quality, control medical insurance costs and facilitate patient services. To address these bottlenecks, Universal Medical has launched its Smart Hospital Platform.
The project establishes a unified AI technology foundation and deeply integrates artificial intelligence into the entire business chain of diagnosis and treatment, quality control, medical insurance management and doctor-patient services. It implements multiple applications, including intelligent medical insurance risk control, AI-based electronic medical record quality control, AI-assisted medical imaging diagnosis and treatment, and smart doctor-patient services. Supported by an integrated technology foundation, the platform breaks down in-hospital data silos and shifts operations from post-event review to pre-event warning and in-process dynamic monitoring. On the one hand, it helps medical institutions strengthen the dual defenses of medical quality and medical insurance compliance and effectively reduce operational risks. On the other hand, it reduces the burden of repetitive administrative tasks on medical staff, improves clinical efficiency and continuously enhances the patient experience. The solution has been deployed at several medical institutions under the Company, providing a replicable and scalable model for the digital transformation of central state-owned enterprise (SOE) hospitals.
Digital Industrial-Finance Platform Connects the Supply Chain, Easing Financing Difficulties for MSMEs
While focusing on the digitalization of its core medical business, Universal Medical also uses digital-intelligence innovation to address pain points in the real economy along the industrial chain. Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) upstream and downstream of supply chains generally face financing challenges: verification of trade backgrounds is cumbersome, information is opaque, and traditional financing approval cycles are long, documentation requirements are heavy and financing costs are relatively high. Pressure on working capital constrains the vitality of the industrial chain. Xiaotong e-Chain, a digital industrial-finance service platform developed by Universal Medical’s subsidiary Xiaotong Yilian, is a digital solution to these industry challenges.
The platform innovatively applies big data, large models and intelligent risk control technologies. Through a suite of digital financial products—Xiaotong e-Dan, Xiaotong e-Rong, Xiaotong e-Ding and Xiaotong e-Piao—covering electronic documents, financing, orders and bills, it achieves the integration of trade, information and capital flows. The platform extends core enterprise credit through the industrial chain, breaks information barriers among core enterprises, upstream and downstream MSME supporting enterprises and financial institutions, and addresses the credit transmission challenge in traditional supply chain finance. Financing business is handled through a fully online closed loop, simplifying the entire process from application and credit approval to disbursement, significantly shortening financing cycles and effectively lowering the financing threshold and overall costs for MSMEs. To date, the platform has connected 55 core enterprises and achieved a cumulative transaction volume of nearly RMB 3 billion. It precisely alleviates the “difficult and expensive financing” pain points of MSMEs in the industrial chain and continuously enhances the resilience of industrial and supply chains.
As a healthcare industry platform under a central SOE, Universal Medical regards health technology as an important engine for fostering new quality productive forces. The Company remains committed to the practical implementation of digital innovation and, leveraging synergy across medical services, research, industry and finance, builds digital-intelligence capabilities around real frontline needs. This award follows the National First Prize won by its “Cross-Domain Optical Network” project at the Smart Healthcare Innovation Competition in June this year, marking another recognition of Universal Medical’s digital-intelligence capabilities and a dual breakthrough in “infrastructure + scenario applications.” From network foundations to business applications, the Company’s digital-intelligence development is moving from isolated pilots to systematic implementation.
Looking ahead, Universal Medical will continue to advance the scenario-based application of frontier technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, blockchain and supply chain finance, deepen the integration of digital technology with healthcare and the real economy, and develop more replicable and scalable benchmark digital scenarios. Through digital-intelligence innovation, the Company will continue to empower the Healthy China and Digital China initiatives and inject sustained digital momentum into fostering new quality productive forces in the health sector and promoting high-quality development of the real economy.
