Date of Upload:2026-05-06

Recently, the results of the 2026 National May Day Labor Medal selection were officially announced. Comrade Lu Suoli—Deputy Director (in charge of work) of the Nursing Department and Chief Nurse of Yangmei General Hospital, affiliated with the General Technology Group / Universal Medical—has won this national honor.

This prestigious award is not only the highest recognition for Lu Suoli, who has worked at the clinical frontline for over 20 years, guarding life and health and leading nursing innovation, but also a full affirmation of her spirit of craftsmanship—marked by dedication, commitment, and a drive for excellence. It also vividly reflects the devotion of the hospital's medical staff and cadres under the Group/Universal Medical.

The National May Day Labor Medal is one of the highest national honors conferred by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions on workers who have made outstanding contributions to socialist construction. At the beginning of the 2026 "15th Five-Year Plan", in order to commend role models, set examples, and further encourage workers to contribute to high-quality development and Chinese modernization on a new journey, the award was reviewed from the bottom up, level by level, approved by the provincial leading group for merit and honor recognition for the first time, and strictly followed the "two reviews and three public notices" procedure before final review and commendation by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions.

Faith is like a rock, writing the compassion of doctors in ordinary positions

Lu Suoli has always integrated her firm political beliefs into every detail of her nursing work. As the leader of the nursing team, she actively participates in social welfare and promotes the normalization of nursing health education and volunteer services. She organizes over 200 health education lectures annually, benefiting more than 5,000 people, and over 470 volunteer activities, serving over 20,000 people. The Nightingale Volunteer Nursing Service Detachment, led by Lu Suoli, has been awarded the Provincial Outstanding Achievement Detachment for three consecutive years and received special recognition for assisting rural revitalization in 2024. She herself was awarded the "Chinese Nurse Volunteer Spirit Contribution Award" (Squad Leader Award) by the China Nightingale Volunteer Nursing Service Corps. On the party building front, the Nursing Department Party Branch where she works has repeatedly been awarded the title of "Five-Star Party Branch", and she has also been named an "Outstanding Communist Party Member".

Rooted in clinical practice, guarding life and health with the heart of a craftsman

In her view, the exemplary role of Party members is not just a slogan, but rather stepping forward in every crisis, offering a warm smile to patients, and committing day and night to the bottom line of nursing quality and safety. For over 20 years, Lu Suoli has been deeply engaged in the clinical nursing frontline, turning "problem points" into "improvement points" and "improvement points" into "innovation points". She continuously optimizes nursing processes and strictly upholds quality and safety standards. The improvement cases she participated in won third prize in the Asian Quality Improvement and Innovation Case Competition for two consecutive years (2024 and 2025). In the face of public health emergencies and urgent, dangerous tasks, she always rushes to the front, treating the hospital as her home, with overtime work as the norm. Through hard work and selfless dedication, she has built a solid defense line to protect people's lives and health.

Forge ahead with innovation and climb professional peaks through scientific research and breakthroughs

Nursing work in the new era is also a pursuit of "precision." For many years, Lu Suoli has pursued clinical excellence and insisted on innovation-led development. In 2024, the "Lu Suoli Innovation Studio" she led was awarded the title of "Shanxi Province Employee Innovation Studio." She focuses on clinical technology research and development. The "Infrared Induction Disinfection and Treatment Vehicle" she developed in 2023 won national utility model and appearance design dual patents, and received second prize in the Shanxi Province "Five Small" Innovation Competition in 2025. She actively engages in nursing research. In 2025, two research projects she participated in were approved as provincial-level projects, contributing wisdom and strength to the development of nursing as a discipline. She led her team to win first prize in the third Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Emergency Skills Competition of the Chinese Society of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia, and she was individually selected as a young outstanding talent in the 2018 Shanxi Province "Three Jin Talents" Support Program.

Lu Suoli’s striving footsteps reflect the collective image of healthcare workers in the new era. She never uses grand words, only a figure silently standing firm under the shadowless lamp and beside the hospital bed. She has upheld the weight of life with her youth and forged a healthy future with ingenuity. Let us take Lu Suoli as an example—firm in belief, dedicated to work, courageous in innovation, and willing to contribute—and together contribute more of the working people’s strength on the new journey of building a "Healthy China."
