On April 1st, 2022-2023 Belt and Road Initiative and BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Competition's "Genertec Cup" Nursing Technology Skills Competition kicked off in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China. The BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Competition is an important platform for promoting educational cooperation, skills development, and cultural exchanges among BRICS countries. The General Technology Group promotes the nursing technology skills competition, which was included in the BRICS skills competition system for the first time, and plays an important role in cultivating nursing talents, promoting the development of the nursing industry, and international exchanges.

The competition is sponsored by the Business Council of BRICS, the Belt and Road and BRICS Skills Development International Alliance, and the Belt and Road and BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Training Center of China Association for Science and Technology. Liu Zhenying, the leader of the Chinese technical skills group of the BRICS Business Council, the chairman of the Belt and Road and BRICS International Alliance for Skills Development, and the chairman of the organizing committee of the BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Competition, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, saying that the BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Competition has been successfully held for six sessions since 2017, with more than 160,000 participants in related activities. The competition has played a leading role in promoting skills and technological progress in BRICS countries. The nursing skills competition is an important part of the BRICS competition. Through the competition, it is hoped that basic theories, knowledge, and skills of nursing personnel can be strengthened, and frontline nursing staff can be motivated to study and practice their skills, enhance their critical thinking and clinical thinking abilities, humanistic care spirit, and team cooperation consciousness, effectively improve the level and temperature of medical services, demonstrate the spirit of learning, professionalism, excellence, humanism, and friendship in the healthcare system, establish a good social image for nursing teams, and promote the sustained and healthy development of the healthcare industry.

At the invitation of Genertec Group, Universal Medical Alliance co-hosted this competition. In her speech at the opening ceremony, Peng Jiahong, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Universal Medical, stated that in order to better promote the construction of nursing talent teams, improve service efficiency, and better promote the exchange and cooperation of nursing work internationally, Genertec Group has for the first time included nursing skills as a competition item in the BRICS Skills Competition system, and has taken this competition as an opportunity and starting point to encourage more nursing personnel, especially young nursing professionals, to attach importance to nursing skills and basic theory, cultivate more professional talents, and promote the nursing work to have a more profound impact both domestically and internationally.
