On Dec 30, Pangang Group General Hospital of Universal Medical held the launching ceremony for its aviation emergency medical aid program in Panzhihua city. Vice mayor Wang Biao, Chairperson of Panzhihua City Health Care Commission and secondary inspector Xu Cui, Vice general manager Xie Qichun of Pangang Group Co., Ltd and CEO Peng Jiahong of Genertec Universal Medical Group Co., Ltd(“Universal Medical”, HK2666) attended the event, which symbolized the successful launching of Universal Medical’s “air-land integration” pre-hospital emergency medical aid in Panzhihua City, establishing a “green air channel” in the area of south west Sichuan and north west Yunnan.

Panxi area locates in the south west side of Sichuan province, consisting of 20 counties and cities with a population amounting to 4.5155 million. The area features precipitous landscape and tangles roads and thus faces problems such as time-consuming and laborious land emergency rescue and difficulty in transporting critical patients. As a SOE health care group, Universal Medical focuses on enhancing the professional capability of its hospitals and thanks to great support from Panzhihua party committee and the city government, the aviation rescue program has been successfully launched. The program covers a radius of 200km, including Xichang, Huili, Huaping, Lugu Lake and some other areas, winning over important time window for the emergency rescue of patients in Panzhuhua and surrounding regions.

Vice general manager Xie Qi of Pangang Group stated that over the past 50 years, Pangang Group and Pangang Group General Hospital witnessed each other’s development and shared weal and woe as they were inseparable partners. Over the years, the Hospital safeguarded Pangang Group’s production, protecting the safety, mental and physical health of its employees and their family members. Aviation emergency rescue program bears reality meaning for the safe production, rescue and relief work and employee medical services of the Group. 

Ms. Peng Jiahong, CEO of Universal Medical mentioned during the ceremony that it’s a pivotal task in the 13th Five Year Plan to establish a complete aviation emergency rescue system. Universal Medical shoulders the responsibility as a SOE to safeguard health and wellness through quality health care. Its two hospitals -- Yangquan Coal Industry (Group) General Hospital and Pangang Group Hospital have already started aviation emergency rescue service. In the future, they will continue to explore the air-land medical rescue mechanism, enhance the connection between pre-hospital air and land transportation and between air medical rescue and in-hospital rescue and form a integrated air-land pre-hospital emergency rescue network to provide the people with responsive normalized air-land emergency rescue services.
