Universal Medical Rushes to the Frontier in Response to the COVID-19 Cases in Chengdu

On December 7, one local case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Pidu District, Chengdu. Six new confirmed cases in Chengdu by December 9 called for the new wave of epidemic combat. As required by the Health Committee of Chengdu, hospitals of Genertec Universal Medical Group Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as “Universal Medical” HK2666) including Pangang Group Chengdu Hospital, Chengdu Genertec Jindian Hospital and China MCC5 Group Hospital organized personnel and resources and joined the fight against the epidemic with all their might.

In the afternoon of December 7, Pangang Group Chengdu Hospital dispatched three staff to Xisha Agricultural Product Market of Pidu District for virus detection. They detected more than 200 person times altogether.

On December 8, six staff from Chengdu Genertec Jindian Hospital detected more than 200 person times in the community of the confirmed cases. China MCC5 Group Hospital urgently dispatched 23 staff to squares for virus detection covering thousands of people. Pangang Group Chengdu Hospital arranged observation rooms for people with high body temperature.

On December 9, a new round of nucleic acid testing started with staff from Pangang Group Chengdu Hospital and Chengdu Genertec Jindian Hospital heading to Chengdu University of Technology and staff from China MCC5 Group Hospital heading to Renmin North Road Primary School. By the afternoon of December 9, nearly one hundred staff from the three hospitals have tested more than 12,000 person times.

As a Central-government-owned medical group, Universal Medical fought hard at the frontier against COVID-19. During the most grave moments of COVID-19, 47 doctors and nurses from Universal Medical headed towards Hubei Province to support the combat against COVID-19 there. During the normalization of epidemic control, doctors and nurses from Universal Medical supported the combat against COVID-19 of the One Belt and One Road countries by tele-medicine. Against the sudden outbreak of epidemic cases, Universal Medical responded quickly to firmly protect people against COVID-19.
