Xi’an XD Group Hospital (西电集团医院，”XD Hospital”), the leading member of UM’s Shaanxi Hospital Alliance, was honored to have the reputed experts from National Stroke Committee in stroke prevention and treatment training programs and in the meanwhile, a substation of Li Jian’an Workstation was announced to officially set up as the gleaming template unveiled by delighted attendees including Ms. Peng Jiahong, CEO of UM, Dr. Feng Qingming, CMO of UM, Dr. Li Jian’an, academician of American Academy of Medical Sciences, and Dr. Wang Shuangquan, president of XD Hospital. Dr. Ge Yifan, secretary-general of Xi’an Medical Association (西安市医学会), Dr. Huayang, deputy-director member of China Stroke Center Management Committee (中国卒中中心管理指导委员会), as well as over 190 representatives from hospitals of UM Shaanxi Hospital Alliance and other Xi’an hospitals, also attended the conference.

Stroke prevention and treatment has been one of major public health topics in China for so long, Peng said in the keynote speech, actively responding to national call, UM keeps committed to upgrading stroke prevention and treatment capabilities in primary hospitals. As early as the year of 2018, XD Hospital officially initiated its stroke center development plan to set up a series of learning examples and standards for other member hospitals of the alliance. At the same time, UM also establish Li Jian’an Workstation program and began to cooperate with Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine (中国康复医学会) to make its major strategical step in rehabilitation area. The newly-established sub-branch in XD Hospital will help the hospital to be a regional rehabilitation center, further completing the UM’s group strategy in rehabilitation.

XD’s efforts in stroke center and substation of Li Jian’an workstation, Dr. Ge Yifan said, is of great significance to local stroke cause and rehabilitation medicine development. President Wang Shuangquan also declared that XD would take this opportunity to further improve its capabilities in management and interdisciplinary coordination, leading the overall development in rehabilitation medicine within the alliance.

The conference was also honored to have Dr. Li Jian’an and other reputed experts from Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University (首都医科大学宣武医院), Tangdu Hospital of Air Force Medical University (空军军医大学唐都医院) and First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (西安交通大学第一附属医院) to give specific lectures of various topics including stroke and clinical issues, new updates of neurological rehabilitation medicine, relationship between disorder in sleep or cognition and stroke, and stroke center construction.
