Genertec Universal Medical Group Company Limited (“Universal Medical”, HK.2666) held Seminar on Nursing Vertical Management Reform in China MCC 5 Group Co., Ltd. Hospital (中国五冶集团有限公司医院, “MMC 5 Hospital”), one of its member hospitals, on June 16th. Over 30 relevant people attended the seminar, including Ms. Peng Jiahong, CEO of Universal Medical, Mr. Feng Qingming, CMO of Universal Medical, Ms. Liu Xiaojiong, general manager of UM Medical Humanities Services Management Department, Ms. Zhang Ling, president of MMC 5 Hospital, together with her management team, director of nursing department and nursing supervisors.

The company was privileged to invite nursing experts from Beijing Chaoyang Hospital, Capital Medical University (首都医科大学附属北京朝阳医院, “Chaoyang Hospital”) to the video-conference, during which guidance and further exchanges on nursing vertical management mode were made from perspectives of theory and practice to define the role of nurses on every side including the “scout” on clinical front, the “special troops” on clinical treatment, the “therapist” for patients and the “all-round clinical specialists”. The seminar focused on discussions about how to activate nurses via vertical management so as to tap one’s biggest potentials, how to guarantee the maximization of collective energy and efficiency, and how to promote the overall development of nursing work to achieve the coordination with hospital development.                                                                                                  

President Zhang Ling expressed three targets she wished nursing work to achieve: to establish a standardized and procedure-based nursing quality management system, to build a core team strong in nursing and service capabilities via management reform, and to make nursing service part of hospital’s strengths.

Universal Medical pays high attention to the development of hospital nursing management mode and the enhancement of nursing quality and service level, said by Ms. Peng Jiahong, CEO of Universal Medical. She also pointed out that it is practicable to make a leading nursing service mode in a short term and hoped the nursing vertical management in MMC 5 Hospital could be reproducible.

Nursing vertical management is a vital measure for hospitals to achieve modern management and lean management, and also leads the way of national healthcare reform and performance reform. Nursing vertical management supports not only the scientific management of hospital nursing system and the sustainable development of nursing connotation, but also interdisciplinary development to serve the core development goal of hospitals. The seminar is a new try for Universal Medical to promote vertical management in nursing to support the lean management of hospitals in future.
