Last week, Genertec Universal Medical Group Company Limited (“Universal Medical”, HK.2666) unveiled a medical alliance project for stroke in Wuzhou Red Cross Hospital. A number of medical and governmental leaders attended the ceremony, including Wang Jinhuan, deputy-director of National Stroke Center Administration and Guidance Committee and director of Municipal and County Level Hospital Working Committee, Huang Zhenrao, member of Wuzhou municipal standing committee, propaganda minister and vice-mayor, Xie Ying, head of municipal health and family planning commission, Gan Xiutian, deputy-head of municipal health and family planning commission, Huang Yunqi, head of Wuzhou Red Cross Hospital and Long Min, general manager of Universal Medical Technology Cooperation Department.

Long Min started the ceremony by briefing the stroke project of Universal Medical and sharing her years of experience in stroke prevention and treatment in primary hospitals, which was highly recognized by guests present.

Director Xie Ying stated, that stroke is a preventable and controllable disease with clear risk factors, easy screening, and specific and remarkable prevention. Municipal standing committee, government and its health department pays high attention to stoke-related work and this project will surely make a great start to a comprehensive and systematic stroke screening, prevention and treatment work in Wuzhou. Next, Wuzhou stroke-related work will be fully implemented with Wuzhou Red Cross Hospital as its leading institution.

President Huang said that Red Cross Hospital has been the first stroke base, member of China Stroke Alliance and member of China Comprehensive Stroke Center in Southeast Guangxi. The Hospital highly valued the project and would make itself the diagnosis, rehabilitation and quality control center to co-establish a stroke alliance with primary hospitals, shouldering the weighty responsibility in construction of Wuzhou stroke hierarchical treatment and first-aid system and finally leading the overall development of Wuzhou stroke work.

After the ceremony, Professor Wang Jinhuan and Professor Yu Delin, director of ultrasonography from Tianjin Huanhu Hospital, presented the significance of stroke work and related professional advice, respectively.

In this Wuzhou project, Universal Medical will take 5 years, step by step, to systematically help primary hospitals in Wuzhou to reach stroke center standards.
