(Handan, May 23, 2016) Universal Medical CEO Guo Weiping, together with CFO Peng Jiahong and the staff of the Company, arrived in Handan, a noted city located in north China with a long history and rich cultural resources on May 23, 2016, after which, an in-depth discussion on prospects of public health in Handan was held with Mayor Wang Huiyong, Deputy Mayor Song Rentang and senior officials from municipal departments in charge of development and reform, finance, land planning as well as public health.

“Handan is the ‘South Gateway City’ in the map of  “Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region” and lies at the critical junction of four provinces(Shanxi, Hebei, Shandong and Henan). It is an internal need for us to develop healthcare and old-age care industry to meet the demand of residents in Handan and surrounding areas,” Mayor Wang said.

Deputy Mayor Song also stated that Handan is among the third batch of pilot cities in public hospital reform and therefore they have been exploring an effective way to develop healthcare industry.

Guo presented corporate information during the discussion. Universal Medical is a listed company in Hong Kong with a controlling shareholder Genertec, a stated-owned key enterprise. Under the guidance of policies from Party Central Committee and the State Council, the Company provides its hospital clients with integrated healthcare services in terms of capital, medical technology, equipment, experts and training.

An in-depth discussion was held on co-development of healthcare industry and both sides reached an agreement on cooperation in providing healthcare security and upgrading Handan into an integrated medical service center capable of meeting the healthcare demand of the four provinces.
